Huawei's Smart City focus at GITEX follows a recent IDC report that states government spending in the Middle East and Africa is set to top $8billion, a 12% increase as more regional government and online services.

Such activities focuses on key ICT trends in the Middle East including Software-Defined-Networking (SDN), cloud computing, Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) policies and Big Data storage–all of which are evolving rapidly and consequently demand more flexible, reliable and secure ICT infrastructure.
