Setting Boundaries As A Tech Professionals

Every human has their own unique boundaries that they feel the most comfortable in. The more you respect you own boundaries and let people know they exist the easier your career in tech will be.

Beyond simply setting basic boundaries you should also think about what events are likely to end up causing issues and to make a decision to avoid them. If you act stupid when you drink it's probably wise not to join in office happy hours... If your coworkers act stupid when they drink avoiding functions with alcohol may do a lot to keep your professional relationships functional. Too many times in the modern world of "startup" life business and personal life intersect in such ways that end up causing professional issues that could have easily been avoided.
