An after-market Connected Vehicle changes the experience for professional transportation-based companies! This demonstration, featuring ng Connect members Alcatel-Lucent, Eyecast, Genetec, IVOX, Nuance, Skymeter and Vidyo, takes place inside a fully customized Ford Transit Connect equipped with broadband technologies and applications to showcase how the cloud can be used to streamline and reduce costs associated with remote mobile services. Capabilities such as collection of traffic information, video logging and download, location-based services, Wifi hotspot links, and two-way video calling all make sure that large scale vehicle fleets can be managed for best use of resources and optimal customer service. For critical first responder services, HD imaging to the cloud for distribution and analysis, secure links to healthcare records, road condition/traffic status feeds and flow intervention, as well as various alerting and sensing applications ensure that critical services are delivered when and where they are needed with the most up to date information available.
