Our top analyst angle story today is from Strategy Analytics who announced that Global Telematics Service revenues are expected to exceed $7 billion. Historically, most people would define Telematics as a general term that refers to any device which merges telecommunications, GPS and navigation systems. It is responsible for many features in vehicles from OnStar to hands free mobile calling. Telematics today involves telecom, GPS, and navigation systems.

Deutsche Telekom and Orange are in talks with BT over selling consumer network EE. EE is the largest mobile operator in the United Kingdom. BT was also reported to be in talks with Telefonica UK over the future of O2.

Vodafone has apologized for sending 1,700 phone numbers of UK news workers to the police. Police had reportedly only asked for details on one journalist.

European Parliament has suggested unbundling Google's search engine from its other services. A draft motion has been supported by Europe's two major political parties. A vote on the issue is expected in the coming days.
